Privacy policy

Last updated October 18, 2026. This page says what LaptopOwners (laptopowners.com) collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We’ve kept it to what the site actually does.

When you read the site

Our web server keeps standard logs of each request: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and the browser information your browser sends. We use them only to keep the site running and secure, and they’re deleted automatically after about two weeks. The site is hosted on DigitalOcean servers in New York, USA.

We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t set any cookies for readers. (WordPress sets login cookies only for the people who run the site.) If we add analytics later, we’ll update this page first.

When you use the contact form

The form stores your name (if you give it), your email address, your message, the page you sent it from and the date, so we can read it and reply. Messages are kept in our site’s database, aren’t shared with anyone, and are deleted automatically after 12 months. We don’t store your IP address with the message; we use a scrambled form of it for about an hour to stop spam.

Links to stores such as Amazon may be affiliate links. When you click one, you leave our site, and the store may set its own cookies to record that you came from us. Their privacy policies apply on their sites. We see only commission reports from the store, which don’t identify you.

Fonts and embedded content

Our fonts are served from our own server, so reading the site doesn’t contact a font service. If a guide embeds content from another site, such as a video, that site may collect data as if you visited it, and we’ll say so next to it.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell or share personal information, and we don’t use it for targeted advertising. The site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, through the contact form. We’ll reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have further rights under state law; we’ll honor them.

Changes

If we change what we collect, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
