LaptopOwners helps you buy a laptop that will run what you actually need: the exam software your school uses, the accounting or CAD program your job depends on, the game your kid wants to build in. We start from what the software asks for, then pick laptops that owners say hold up after months of use.
Why the site exists
The most expensive laptop mistake isn’t a slow one. It’s the one that can’t install the program you bought it for: a Chromebook that won’t run exam software, a laptop stuck in S mode, a Mac when your office runs Windows-only software. Most “best laptop” lists don’t check for that. Ours start there.
Independent
No laptop maker or retailer owns LaptopOwners or pays for a place in our picks. We earn commissions when people buy through our links, and we explain how that works.
How we work
We don’t lab-test laptops, and we never say we did. Every claim on a guide is labelled with where it came from: owner reports, the software maker’s requirements, a short in-store check, or the maker’s spec sheet. Read how we work.
